Lisa Zamosky

Lisa Zamosky is a consumer health care columnist for the Los Angeles Times, where her Healthcare Watch column appears in the Sunday business section. She writes WebMD‘s expert Health Insurance Navigator blog and is a correspondent for California Healthline and iHealthBeat, both news services of the California Healthcare Foundation.

Before becoming a freelance journalist, Lisa worked in the health care industry for more than 10 years in New York City. She spent the earlier part of her career working as a clinician in hospitals and outpatient clinics throughout New York City. Later, she went on to work with one of the largest managed care organizations in the country where she developed benefit plans for Fortune 500 companies, as well as state governments. For a number of years she oversaw all provider network operations in the company’s largest market, collaborating with health insurers and government regulators to meet market demands.  She went on to work for a health care technology company formed specifically to address common medical mishaps occurring from a lack of coordinated care.  Her years of experience working in health care gives her a unique understanding of the topics about which she writes as a health journalist.

Lisa lives in Southern California with her husband and son.
