She is the author of Healthcare, Insurance and You: The Savvy Consumer’s Guide, and contributor to Money Magazine. Lisa is a deputy health editor with Politico and the former Health Care Watch columnist for the L.A. Times, health reform expert and longtime WebMD health insurance columnist and blogger, and correspondent for two news services of the California Healthcare Foundation.
Lisa is called upon to provide expert commentary on the Affordable Care Act and trends in health care for television and radio, including CNN, ABC and PBS stations, as well as print media, including Money, USA Today, Yahoo Finance, and Fox Business, among others. She also delivers keynote addresses and other presentations and seminars.
Her expertise comes from experience. Lisa spent more than 10 years in the health care industry, much of which was spent working for one of the largest managed care organizations in the country. There, she developed benefit plans for Fortune 500 companies and state governments, and oversaw all provider network operations in the company’s largest market, collaborating with health insurers and government regulators to meet market demands.
