A WebMD reader wrote in with the following question:
Years ago, my sister-in-law had surgery for a typical female problem. During the surgery, the doctor cut something vital to her kidneys and one kidney had to be removed. The doctor apologized for his slip of the knife, but she was charged for the removal of the kidney. Can that be ethical? I can’t understand why she was charged for that at all.
